Introduction

Deltron Equipment & Systems Pvt. Ltd., an ISO 9001:2015-certified enterprise, stands as a trusted and time-tested name in the Indian railway signalling domain. With multiple products approved by the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, Deltron has emerged as a reliable engineering partner to some of the most critical railway projects across India and abroad.

Our Origins

Founded in the late 1980s by two visionary engineers—Late Mr. Nikhilananda Mukherjee and Mr. Sukrit Chatterjee—Deltron was born out of a mission to deliver comprehensive, technology-driven railway signalling solutions. Drawing on extensive experience in both domestic and international markets, the founders laid a robust technical and ethical foundation that continues to guide the company’s evolution today.

Our Journey

Headquartered in the historic city of Kolkata, along the banks of the sacred Ganges, Deltron began its operations with the overhaul of signalling relays. The company swiftly moved into large-scale implementation of British-type metal-to-carbon relay-based interlocking systems, followed by prestigious assignments involving advanced Siemens Route Relay Interlocking (RRI) systems at major Indian railway junctions, including Mughalsarai and Howrah Terminal, and also international deployments in Malaysia, Iran, and Bangladesh.

In the early 1990s, Deltron entered a transformative phase through collaborations with the Ministry of Information Technology, the Centre for Knowledge-Based Studies (Jadavpur University), and the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi. This partnership led to the development of one of India’s first fail-safe digital block interface systems, specifically designed to integrate with microwave and optical fiber communication networks. The solution received RDSO approval and met CENELEC SIL-4 safety requirements, laying the groundwork for India’s nationwide transition to modern, fibre-based block signalling.

For more than 25 years, Deltron has been at the forefront of Absolute, Intermediate, and Automatic Block Signalling systems. Today, the company continues to pioneer in the design, development, and indigenisation of safety-critical embedded systems—achieving compliance with international safety standards such as CENELEC SIL-4 and ISO 9001.

With over 65,000 sq. ft. of integrated infrastructure spread across multiple units in Kolkata, Deltron’s manufacturing capabilities include:
